California Department of Health Services – Office of Family Planning
A Request for Applications will be released in June for contracts to be awarded to Information and Education Programs that are designed to reduce teen pregnancy. National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification Incentive Program (NBPTS)
This program provides monetary incentive for National Board Certified Teachers in the form of a $20,000 pay incentive, paid in four annual installments.
Eligible applicants for the Incentive Award must be nationally certified by the NBPTS and assigned to teach in a K-12 high-priority school (API ranking of 5 or less).

Proud Parenting
This program provides funds for the Proud Parenting Program in local communities. Program sites may include juvenile detention facilities, alternative schools, or youth centers. The program is designed to strengthen parenting knowledge and skills, provide structured family activities that give participants an opportunity to apply what they have learned, provide participants with positive adult role models who reinforce what is learned in the classroom, and foster healthy youth development through mentoring.
Eligible applicants are local government agencies and nonprofit organizations. Availability of funds for FY 03/04 is uncertain.
