Mentor Programs Making a Difference
Mentoring: A Promising Strategy for Youth Development
Child Trends, a nonprofit, nonpartisan research organization, reviewed studies of ten youth mentoring programs, including both nationwide and locally based programs with the intention of gathering information on how effective mentoring is. This Research Brief brings together highlights from the multiple studies conducted. The overall findings from this research is that mentoring programs can be effective tools for enhancing the positive development of youth.
Best Buddies International's E-Buddies Program
Best Buddies International is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships and integrated employment. E-Buddies seeks to fulfill the mission of Best Buddies International by facilitating e-mail friendships between people with and without developmental disabilities.
